Freedom Caucus Thanks Departing Members
Washington, D.C.— Freedom Caucus Chairman Emeritus Jim Jordan (R-OH) released the following statement on behalf of the group about its departing members:
"We are sad to lose Reps. John Fleming (R-LA), Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Matt Salmon (R-AZ), Tim Huelskamp (R-KS), Marlin Stutzman (R-IN), Curt Clawson (R-FL), and Scott Garrett (R-NJ), who will not be returning to the 115th Congress. We are grateful for their principled leadership and committed service to their country and their constituents. Each of these individuals brought unique expertise and insight to the group and their shoes will be impossible to fill. Thank you to each and every one of you for your willingness to be bold, your commitment to conservative values, and your dedication to our country."
Mission statement of the House Freedom Caucus:
"The House Freedom Caucus gives a voice to countless Americans who feel that Washington does not represent them. We support open, accountable and limited government, the Constitution and the rule of law, and policies that promote the liberty, safety, and prosperity of all Americans."
