House of Representatives to Vote on Congressmen Meadows and Jordan's Resolution
Rep. Meadows and Rep. Jordan released the following statement:
"For months on end, executives at the Department of Justice have done nothing but pay lip-service to transparency, while instead choosing to obstruct, slow-walk, and deny legitimate Congressional attempts to obtain documents and conduct oversight. Under Rod Rosenstein's leadership, the Department has made every effort possible to conceal the truth from the American people about what occurred in 2016 and 2017. We are tired of them giving us the runaround. It is time for Congress to vote to hold them accountable.
Tomorrow, the House will vote on our resolution to formally compel the Department to turn over all relevant documents within one week, setting a deadline of July 6. We urge our colleagues to join us in drawing a clear line in the sand and sending a message that this kind of obstruction has no place in the people's government."
