Jordan awards Elyria area educator with ticket to watch Pope Francis speech in person
Krakowiak is the Executive in Residence at Elyria Catholic High School, and has served as a teacher, coach and administrator in Northeast Ohio catholic schools for more than 30 years.
Jordan chose Krakowiak to honor the formative role he played in the lives of thousands of students throughout the years, noting that next to their parents, the people who have the biggest impact on a young person's life is most often a teacher or coach.
Jordan will formally make the invitation to Mr. Krakowiak when he visits Elyria Catholic on Wednesday, September 2, to speak to a high school government class.
Jordan said of Krakowiak:
"Andrew Krakowiak is the definition of a servant leader. As a teacher, coach and administrator, he has impacted the lives of thousands of students and student-athletes. His influence will be felt for generations, and it is my honor to invite him to witness firsthand what will most certainly be a very special day in the nation's capital."
Jordan noted that his office is also expected to receive a limited number of standing room only tickets to watch Pope Francis' address on television from the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Those who will be in Washington, D.C. and are interested in requesting a standing room only ticket for the speech should contact his office in Lima (419-999-6455), Norwalk (419-663-1426) or Washington, D.C. (202-225-2676).
