Jordan co-signs letter to Obama about potential voter fraud from executive order

February 11, 2015
Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) has joined Ohio Senator Rob Portman and the rest of the Ohio Republican congressional delegation in sending a letter to President Obama urging him to address potential voter fraud in Ohio due to his executive actions on immigration.

The letter to President Obama reads, in part:

"Your deferred action programs threaten the integrity of Ohio's voter registration rolls as they potentially increase the number of non-citizens who can illegally register to vote and cast ballots without detection. … Mr. President, our citizens' right to vote is among the most important guaranteed by the Constitution. Congress has the right and obligation to maintain the integrity and ensure that only those who are afforded this right participate in our electoral process."

Tomorrow, Rep. Jordan will co-chair a joint hearing of his House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Health Care, Benefits, and Administrative Rules, and the Subcommittee on National Security, entitled, "The President's Executive Actions on Immigration and Their Impact on Federal and State Elections." Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted will participate in that hearing.
