Jordan grills Joel Rubin on outstanding Benghazi-related documents
January 27, 2015
Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) grilled Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs Joel Rubin today during the third hearing before the U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee on Benghazi. Rep. Jordan questioned Mr. Rubin about the U.S. Department of State's failure to hand over documents related to the 2012 terrorist attack on a U.S. facility in Benghazi, Libya. The Benghazi Select Committee subpoenaed relevant documents in 2013 that have still not been given to the committee.
During the questioning period, Rep. Jordan said:
"The subpoena was a year and a half ago. I don't know how you can say you've been proactive and helpful when you won't even comply with the statute and give us what the law requires you to give us, and have it segregated and separated for us, and oh by the way claim independence in the process."
