JORDAN NAMED "FRIEND OF FARM BUREAU"

September 15, 2010

The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation has recognized Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) with the Friend of Farm Bureau Award for his work during the 111th Congress.

"I'm honored to receive this award from the Ohio Farm Bureau," Jordan said.  "The Farm Bureau does vital work in promoting and supporting Ohio's agricultural economy, on which one in every seven Ohio jobs depends."

The award is given to members of Congress nominated by their state Farm Bureaus based on their voting record, co-sponsorship of legislation supporting Farm Bureau priorities, and leadership on agricultural issues.

"I always enjoy meeting with Farm Bureau members at home and in Washington and hearing their views on important federal matters," Jordan said.  "We share many goals, including expanding trade opportunities for Ohio producers, eliminating the death tax, and protecting farm operations from job-killing regulations.  As the House reconvenes this week, I will continue to fight on behalf of all of Ohio's farmers on these issues."
