Jordan praises RSC opposition to Ex-Im Bank reauthorization

May 21, 2015
Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) praised the Republican Study Committee and its chairman, Rep. Bill Flores (R-Texas), for today calling for Congress to let the Export-Import Bank's charter expire on schedule at the end of June:

"The coalition against the Export-Import Bank continues to grow. I applaud Chairman Flores and the RSC for joining Leader McCarthy, Whip Scalise, key chairmen, nearly every Republican presidential candidate, and conservative groups in calling for Congress to let the Ex-Im Bank's charter expire. The time is now to end this patent example of corporate welfare."

Rep. Jordan is chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, which opposes the bank's reauthorization. He is a former chairman of the RSC, and a current member. He also chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Health Care, Benefits, and Administrative Rules, which has held hearings on corruption at Ex-Im Bank.
