Jordan receives ‘Taxpayers’ Friend Award,’ ‘A’ rating from National Taxpayers Union

September 30, 2014
Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) earned an "A" rating from the National Taxpayers Union for consistently voting to protect Americans from increased tax burdens, and for consistently voting in a fiscally responsible manner during the first session of the 113th Congress. For his consistent voting record he received the 2013 "Taxpayers' Friend Award," given through the organization's "NTU Rates Congress" program. In the first session, Rep. Jordan received the thirteenth highest rating out of 430 Representatives that NTU rated.

Rep. Jordan has consistently received an "A" rating every year since he began serving in Congress in 2007.

In July, the NTU Foundation's BillTally report determined that Rep. Jordan had the most fiscally responsible legislative agenda among Ohio's Congressional Delegation.

Of the award Rep. Jordan said:

"The hardworking families of Ohio's fourth district know best how to spend their own money. I am committed to working in Congress to ensure that more of it remains in their own pockets. Low taxes foster a healthier economy. They encourage entrepreneurship and job creation while improving the international competitiveness of our nation's businesses. I am honored to receive this award from the National Taxpayers Union, because it represents one of the key themes of my time serving the fourth district of Ohio: defending the American taxpayer from undue government intrusion, and responsible management of the taxpayer's money."
