Jordan to sponsor sleigh rides, raise awareness at Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museums on Presidents’ Day
Of the event Rep. Jordan said:
"The 2016 presidential election is a great opportunity to raise awareness with area students about the important role that Ohio has played in the presidency throughout our nation's history. I hope families can come out and spend some time at the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museums and perhaps enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh ride around the grounds."
The Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museums includes the home, library, museum, tomb, and estate of President Rutherford B. Hayes. This year, the Library celebrates the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Hayes Presidential Library and Museums on the Hayes' 25-acre estate.
Rep. Jordan will be at the Library at 1 p.m. to visit with constituents and quiz students on presidential trivia. The goal of the event is to raise awareness and encourage an educational partnership between local schools and the Library, as well as celebrate President Hayes and the rest of America's former presidents. Ohio is the birthplace of eight presidents, beginning with William Henry Harrison, whose term began in 1841 and ending with Warren G. Harding in 1921.
