Jordan statement on healthcare bill with addition of MacArthur amendment

April 26, 2017
Congressman Jim Jordan made the following comments after the House Freedom Caucus voted to support the American Health Care Act with the addition of the MacArthur amendment:

"Since President Trump took office, I have been working relentlessly on our shared goal of repealing Obamacare and replacing it with a better, more affordable plan. Our efforts in the House Freedom Caucus to hold the line and improve the American Health Care Act have paid off.  While I remain committed to replacing Obamacare entirely, I can support this new version of the bill moving forward.  It is our best chance to pass a bill through the House that will actually reduce the cost of health insurance for everyday Americans. I look forward to working with the Senate to further improve this bill, and deliver on the promise that Republicans and the president made to the American people."
