Jordan statement on House vote to pass reconciliation bill repealing significant portions of Obamacare
January 6, 2016
Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) made the following statement regarding today's vote on a reconciliation bill that would repeal significant portions of the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, commonly called Obamacare, and also stop federal funding of Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers:
"Since 2010, Republicans have told the American people that we heard their frustration over Obamacare and would repeal this terrible law. Today we took the first step toward finally repealing Obamacare. For the first time, a reconciliation bill is on the way to President Obama's desk that repeals significant portions of Obamacare and blocks federal funding for Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers. Under a Republican president, we will finally be able to fully repeal this terrible healthcare law, and redirect Planned Parenthood's federal funding to the many other federally qualified health clinics that are providing needed health care services to women and girls."
