Jordan subcommittee to examine DHS immigration policies, tax filing and Obamacare

February 23, 2015
Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) will chair or co-chair two House Oversight and Government Reform subcommittee hearings this week. Rep. Jordan will co-chair a hearing with Rep. Ron DeSantis, chairman of the Subcommittee on National Security, to review the Department of Homeland Security's policies and procedures regarding non-citizens who are illegally in the U.S.

Rep. Jordan's Health Care, Benefits and Administrative Rules subcommittee will examine the 2010 Affordable Care Act's impact on U.S. taxpayers as they file taxes this season. The hearing comes after news last week that 800,000 taxpayers who bought insurance through HealthCare.gov received the wrong tax information, inhibiting their ability to file.
