RECOVERY.OHIO.GOV Website Launched

May 13, 2009

The Office of Congressman Jim Jordan today urged local governments, businesses, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions interested in competing for funding from the federal stimulus bill to visit a new website provided by the State of Ohio.  The website is www.recovery.ohio.gov.

There, entities will be asked to provide their contact information, details about the project for which they are seeking funding, the cost and timeframe of the project, and how many jobs the project is expected to create or maintain.

Jordan's Chief of Staff Ray Yonkura said that information should be submitted to the website even if it has already been submitted elsewhere.

Yonkura also noted that the website is designed for the State of Ohio to receive funding requests for eligible projects, as opposed to requests for individual benefits like unemployment benefits or Pell Grants.  Projects that meet eligibility requirements will receive further instructions through e-mail.

As more developments occur, the state website will post any pertinent information.  Applicants and constituents are encouraged to contact their state legislators for more information.
