Reps. John Fleming (R-LA) and Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) introduced a resolution of impeachment of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Commissioner John Koskinen. The Freedom Caucus released the following statement in support of the resolution:

"The Freedom Caucus strongly supports Rep. Fleming and Rep. Huelskamp in their effort to impeach the IRS Commissioner for gross negligence, dereliction of duty, and violating the public trust. For too long, the American people have waited for Commissioner Koskinen to be held accountable.

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) thanked his colleagues Reps. John Fleming (R-Louisiana) and Tim Huelskamp (R-Kansas) for introducing a resolution of impeachment of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Commissioner John Koskinen today.

"I thank my colleagues John Fleming and Tim Huelskamp for their resolution to impeach IRS Commissioner John Koskinen. Mr. Koskinen has failed the American people through gross negligence, dereliction of duty, and violating the public trust.

While questioning Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Chairman Martin Gruenberg about Operation Choke Point during a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) noted that the FDIC's actions bore a resemblance to the Internal Revenue Service's targeting of conservative organizations.

In Operation Choke Point, the U.S. Department of Justice investigated banks that were working with legal businesses that the Obama administration opposed, such as gun dealers and pay-day lenders.

In a hearing today before the House Judiciary Committee, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) questioned U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch about her decision to accept the FBI's recommendation in its investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's email arrangement even before she knew what the recommendation was.

During the hearing Rep. Jordan said:

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) today questioned former Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran during a hearing before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee regarding H.R. 2802, the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA). Cochran, 2012 fire chief of the year, was fired for believing in traditional marriage, even though a city investigation found that he had never acted in a discriminatory manner in any way. Under FADA, the federal government would be prohibited from discriminating against those who believe in traditional marriage.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee will hold a hearing on the First Amendment Defense Act, H.R. 2802, on Tuesday. The House Freedom Caucus released the following statement in support of the legislation:

"The First Amendment Defense Act is common-sense legislation that protects religious liberty—the backbone of our great nation. Under FADA, the federal government would be barred from revoking grants, contracts, accreditation, or licenses from individuals or institutions based on the personal views they hold on the definition of marriage.

In a hearing today before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) questioned FBI Director James Comey about his decision to not indict former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server during her time at the State Department.

When announcing his reasons for recommending against prosecution, Comey said that the "context" of Clinton's actions needed to be taken into account. Rep. Jordan questioned Comey regarding the context.
