Congressman Jim Jordan requests disaster declaration from President Biden for tornado hit areas

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Congressman Jim Jordan is urging President Biden to make a disaster declaration for the 11 counties affected by the March 14th tornado outbreak.

Jordan sent a letter requesting a major disaster declaration for the areas hit by the tornadoes. The declaration will allow the residents to get federal aid for their recovery. Jordan says 250 families in Logan County had their homes hit by the tornado, and recovery aid will go beyond what resources the state and local governments could provide.

Governor Mike DeWine requested a presidential declaration after FEMA assessed the damage from the tornadoes a couple of weeks ago, and senators Sherrod Brown and JD Vance have also asked for the president to take action.
