Jordan stops at Wapak museum
Congressman Jim Jordan visited Wapakoneta on Monday afternoon, where he made stops at the Neil Armstrong Museum and the Wapakoneta Rotary Club meeting.
The Neil Armstrong Museum celebrated the national “Invite Congress to Visit Your Museum” week. This is not Jordan’s first time at the Wapakoneta museum.
According to a recent press release, museum team member Dante Centuori shared his regards, “It is always an honor to have Congressman Jordan visit our site. Since his last visit in 2020, our museum has made some considerable additions and enhancements. It is also important to show our elected officials how our museum engages visitors, contributes to the local economy and inspires people from all across the country and world.”
While speaking at the Wapakoneta Rotary Club Meeting, Jordan commented on the FBI raid of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida.
“They went to President Trump’s personal home,” said Jordan. “The lawyer was not allowed to be present. They spent hours and hours raiding and if it was top secret information then why did they wait 18 months? Why not go and get this stuff earlier? Why did you do the warrant on Friday but not do the search until the following month?”
In recent news, legislation was passed in the House of Representatives and Congress. According to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, the Inflation Reduction Act is legislation that would use the fiscal year 2022 reconciliation instructions to raise revenue; lower prescription drug costs; fund new energy, climate and health care provisions and reduce budget deficits.
“Thousands and thousands of agents are going to harass taxpayers,” said Jordan. “They are going to harass middle-class taxpayers who go to work every day. They are going to harass the people who bust their tails to make our communities the great places they are. It is wrong and the country knows it is wrong as well. When you spend 3 quarters of a trillion dollars and you raise people’s taxes I don’t see how it helps inflation. I think the inflation reduction act will increase inflation and we know it is going to raise people’s taxes. We know it is going to release thousands of IRS agents on people and it is going to drive up the cost of living. It is bad legislation. It is not going to help families and communities.”
Jordan is running for re-election this November against Democratic candidate Tamie Wilson.
