 Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) will host Steven C. Preston, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), on a tour of flood-damaged areas of Wyandot and Hancock Counties on Friday, August 31.

Jordan and Preston will visit disaster recovery centers (DRCs) set up in both counties by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) following last week's catastrophic flooding.

The tour follows a visit to Hancock County last week by Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and FEMA Director R. David Paulison.

The request follows a visit to Hancock County last week by Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Director R. David Paulison to see the effects of last week's intense rainfall in north central and northwestern Ohio.

 Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) announced today that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has approved a $63,318 grant for Hardin County's Roundhead Volunteer Fire Department.

"We're pleased that Roundhead is benefiting from this DHS program," Jordan said. "This funding will help Roundhead's first responders be better prepared to save lives and property."

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) today said that misplaced priorities and an 11th-hour tax hike added to the Farm Bill will likely hurt its support even among pro-agriculture Republicans from rural congressional districts.

Jordan's concerns include the fact that the vast majority of the funding in the Democrat-authored farm bill would now go to food stamps instead of farm programs.

 The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved $150,000 in entitlement funding for Wapakoneta's Neil Armstrong Airport, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) has announced.

"The businesses and individuals who rely on Neil Armstrong Airport will greatly benefit from the improvements made possible through this funding," Jordan said. "Air infrastructure is important to every community and every local economy in our congressional district."

The funding will be put toward taxiway rehabilitation and the installation of automated weather observing equipment.

It started six months ago, when I spoke on the House floor to warn people that House leadership was passing rules to make it easier to raise taxes on families and businesses.

 Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) welcomed today's announcement that the federal budget deficit will be nearly $40 billion lower than originally projected.

"This announcement is yet further evidence that the tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 are continuing to produce results for our economy and revenue for the coffers of government," said Jordan, noting that the deficit will now be less than half of what it was just three years ago, and the lowest since 2002.
