"After two years of reckless spending and putting record levels of debt on the backs of our children and grandchildren, I am glad to see President Obama finally say what the Republican Study Committee has been saying all along, that ‘the only way to tackle our deficit is to cut excessive spending wherever we find it.'

I urge the President to put his call for spending cuts into action by pledging to sign our Spending Reduction Act, a $2.5 trillion spending cut package that will begin to restore fiscal responsibility to Washington.

Congressman Jim Jordan's (R-Urbana) staff will be in Wapakoneta and Urbana on Friday, January 28th.

Congressman Jim Jordan's (R-Urbana) staff will be in Kenton and Upper Sandusky on Wednesday, January 12th.

Cameron Warner, Rep. Jordan's Deputy District Director, will be available to meet with constituents from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in Veteran's Hall in the Hardin County Courthouse, located at One Courthouse Square.

Mr. Warner will also be in Upper Sandusky and available to meet with constituents from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Community Room in the Upper Sandusky Library, located at 301 N. Sandusky Ave.

Late this evening, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) issued the following statement on his vote against H.R. 4853, the tax bill led by President Obama.

"Despite the fact that my fellow conservatives and I have fought long and hard against the income tax increases scheduled for the end of this year, I simply could not support this flawed compromise bill."

Today, members of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) elected Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) to serve as chairman of the caucus for a two-year term beginning in January.

The RSC has been the voice of conservative Republicans in the U.S. House since 1973. With the sweeping results of the November election, the RSC is expected to have a record-high of more than 160 members in January.
