Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) is accepting applications from area college students interested in interning in his Lima district office.

Applicants should either be residents of or attend school in the Fourth Congressional District, which includes Allen, Auglaize, Champaign, Crawford, Logan, Sandusky, Seneca, Shelby, Union Counties and parts of Erie, Huron, Lorain, Marion and Mercer Counties.

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) made the following comments about the Justice Department's decision to not seek criminal contempt charges against former IRS official Lois Lerner:

"As one of his final acts as U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C., Ronald Machen used his power as a political weapon to undermine the rule of law. Mr. Machen was legally bound to convene a grand jury, but instead he ignored his obligation and unilaterally decided to ignore the will of the House of Representatives.

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH-04) today introduced the "Second Amendment Enforcement Act of 2015," legislation to restore Second Amendment rights in the District of Columbia.

"In order to achieve the American Dream, people need to be able to live in safe communities and be able to protect themselves, their families and their properties from danger. The lawful exercise of the Second Amendment is part of what makes this possible," said Rubio.

The House Freedom Caucus (HFC) has hired Steve Chartan to serve as its executive director.

Prior to joining HFC, Chartan was a policy advisor for the Senate Steering Committee under Chairman Mike Lee (R-UT), and previously Chairman Pat Toomey (R-PA). Before that he served as a legislative staffer in Senator Toomey's Washington, D.C. office. He graduated from Duke University.

The Club for Growth, America's leading advocate for economic freedom and limited government, announced today that Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) has received the Defender of Economic Freedom Award for his voting record in Congress during calendar year 2014. Congressman Jordan received a score of 100 percent in 2014 and has a lifetime score of 98 percent. 

This year, only 34 Members of Congress will receive the Award.

"The American people spoke overwhelmingly in November: Don't fund President Obama's unconstitutional executive actions. Unfortunately today the bill that passed the United States Congress maintains the ability for the government to fund them.
