House Freedom Caucus Names New Executive Director

The House Freedom Caucus issued the following statement:

"The House Freedom Caucus has named Justin Ouimette as its new Executive Director. Justin was previously the Policy Director for the House Freedom Caucus."

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) will join several colleagues for a panel discussion tomorrow at the 2016 Conservative Policy Summit hosted by Heritage Action For America. The panel is titled, "Driving a Conservative Agenda: How the House Freedom Caucus is changing the game for conservatives." The panel will take place at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Heritage Foundation's headquarters on Massachusetts Ave. Fred Barnes, executive editor of The Weekly Standard, will moderate the discussion.

As a former athlete at the University of Wisconsin, I know the positive impact sports can have on a young person's development. During my high school wrestling years at Graham Local Schools in St. Paris, Ohio, my coach Ron McCunn taught his athletes many important lessons. Most important was his emphasis on discipline. He used to say, "Discipline is doing what you don't want to do when you don't want to do it." In simple terms this meant doing things the right way when you'd rather do them the convenient way.

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) will visit the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museums in Fremont on Presidents' Day, February 15, to raise awareness about the Library and Museums and to encourage students to appreciate Ohio presidential history. Jordan will sponsor horse-drawn sleigh rides for the first 100 children who can correctly answer presidential trivia questions, including those about our 19th president.

On the 43rd anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) made the following comments:

"Today Americans again remember the tragic Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade that has resulted in the deaths of over 58 million unborn babies in the last 43 years. Once again, thousands of Americans are marching through the streets of Washington, D.C. to protest that decision.

In several district visits today, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) drew attention to local concerns with President Obama's executive overreach on restricting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans.

Jordan toured the facilities of Crawford County munitions manufacturer Galion LLC, visited with the owners of Elkhorn Lake Hunt Club, and tonight he will speak to the northwest Ohio chapter of the Safari Club.

"The Obama administration has repeatedly undermined the Constitution and rule of law. They have targeted Americans' First Amendment freedoms through the IRS‎, religious liberty through Obamacare, and Second Amendment rights through executive actions. Instead of attacking Americans' liberties, the President should work with Congress to secure our borders and protect the country from terrorism.

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) praised the Internal Revenue Service's decision today to withdraw its unpopular donation substantiation proposal. The proposal was touted as an alternate way for organizations to voluntarily prove charitable donations. It drew significant criticism though over fears that, although the new method was voluntary, it would become mandatory.
