Members of the House Republican Conference have formed the House Freedom Caucus (HFC) to advance an agenda of limited, constitutional government in Congress. The HFC has adopted the following mission statement:

"The House Freedom Caucus gives a voice to countless Americans who feel that Washington does not represent them. We support open, accountable and limited government, the Constitution and the rule of law, and policies that promote the liberty, safety and prosperity of all Americans."

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) made the following statement regarding the 42nd anniversary of Roe v. Wade and the vote by the U.S. House of Representatives to pass H.R. 7, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act:

"Today Americans again remember the tragic Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade that has resulted in the deaths of over 56 million unborn babies in the last 42 years. And once again, thousands of Americans are making their way to the National Mall to march for life in defense of the unborn.

One bright spot in the appropriations bill that recently passed Congress was a renewed commitment by the federal government to support the important work of upgrading tanks and building other armored vehicles at the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center (JSMC) in Lima. Because of the critical role JSMC plays in our national security we have been urging the Department of Defense to guarantee the plants' future.
