Pro-Life and Family Issues
Throughout my years serving in the Ohio General Assembly and now in the U.S. Congress, I am proud to stand and defend the lives of the unborn. I am committed to the view that life is sacred, that it begins at conception and that the Founding Fathers were correct in placing life first among the list of rights the Constitution was written to defend. This conviction informs all that I do in Congress, including the bills I sponsor and the speeches I give from the House floor. H.R. 618, the Right to Life Act, was the first bill I co-sponsored after taking office in January 2007. Currently, I am working on a bill called the Ultrasound Informed Consent Act, which employs ultrasound technology to save lives by offering women the opportunity to see their babies and encouraging them to pursue adoption and other abortion alternatives.
Additionally, I am committed to defending the sanctity of marriage and the family. Our families are the foundation of our country, and America is strongest when our nation’s families are sound. I oppose all attempts to redefine marriage, and I support the right of parents to supervise what their children learn and how they are educated.

Of the legislation, Rep. Jordan said:
"Of all the schools and businesses I've visited in our district over the years, this issue has never been raised once. There is no need for a blanket federal restroom policy that covers every school in America, especially one that comes with the threat of retaliation from the Obama administration for failure to comply.
"Today Americans again remember the tragic Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade that has resulted in the deaths of over 58 million unborn babies in the last 43 years. Once again, thousands of Americans are marching through the streets of Washington, D.C. to protest that decision.
"Since 2010, Republicans have told the American people that we heard their frustration over Obamacare and would repeal this terrible law. Today we took the first step toward finally repealing Obamacare.
Of the event Rep. Jordan said:
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing was titled "Planned Parenthood's Taxpayer Funding."
During the hearing, Rep. Jordan made the following comments during his opening remarks:
"Given the appalling revelations surrounding Planned Parenthood, we cannot in good moral conscience vote to send taxpayer money to this organization while still fulfilling our duty to represent our constituents. We must therefore oppose any spending measure that contains funding for Planned Parenthood."
