"An investigation is exactly what needs to happen. Americans despise double standards. They hate when there is one set of rules for regular Americans but a different set for the politically connected like James Comey, Loretta Lynch and Secretary Clinton.

"President Trump is doing what voters sent him here to do. Today's executive order on healthcare will start to give everyday Americans the relief they need from soaring premiums. But an executive order is not a permanent fix. Republicans in Congress need to follow the president's lead and repeal Obamacare like we promised we would since 2010."

In advance of President Trump's visit to the U.S./Mexico border today, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) made the following comments:

"Today President Trump will visit the U.S./Mexico border and reaffirm his commitment to securing our border. Under President Trump, the number of people trying to enter the U.S. illegally has dropped significantly. But we need to do more. I agree with the president that secure borders are a vital part of our national security. For the good of our country, Congress should include border wall funding in government funding legislation this fall.

In a House Judiciary Committee hearing today, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) questioned acting Deputy Assistant Attorney General Richard Downing about former FBI Director James Comey's recent testimony regarding former Attorney General Loretta Lynch. Comey testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee on June 8 that Lynch told him to call the FBI's reopened investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails a "matter" instead of an "investigation" in October 2016.

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) has introduced H.R. 2832, the Welfare Reform and Upward Mobility Act of 2017, a bill to reform the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The bill, sponsored in the Senate by Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah), is modeled off of successful reforms implemented in Maine and the welfare reforms of 1996.
