Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) is pleased to announce that Natalie Baratta of Findlay has earned the Silver Congressional Award Medal for completing more than 200 hours of volunteer service to the community.

Jordan will present the medal to Ms. Baratta this Monday, August 16, at 4:15 PM in his Findlay District Office (100 East Main Cross Street, Suite 201).  Area media are welcome to cover the presentation.

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) asked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) to consider his balanced budget proposal on the House Floor on Tuesday, when House members will meet in a special session to consider a $26.1 billion spending package.

Congressman Jim Jordan's (R-Urbana) staff will be in Upper Sandusky and Kenton on Wednesday, August 4th. 

Cameron  Warner, Rep. Jordan's Deputy District Director, will be available to meet with constituents from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the Community Room in the Upper Sandusky Library, located at 301 N. Sandusky Ave.

Mr. Warner will also be in Kenton and available to meet with constituents from 4:00PM to 5:00PM in Veterans Hall in the Hardin County Courthouse, located at One Courthouse Square.

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) welcomed the Air Force's announcement that Mansfield Lahm Airport, home of the Ohio Air National Guard's 179th Airlift Wing, is one of two finalists in the competition to receive the C-27J formal training unit (FTU) mission.

"Today's announcement affirms the important role that the 179th has played in our national defense and homeland security efforts for more than 60 years," Jordan said.  "Locating all C-27J training activities in Mansfield would greatly benefit not only the men and women of the 179th but the National Guard as a whole."

Congressmen Marsha Blackburn (TN-7), Tom Price (GA-6), and Jim Jordan (OH-4) will offer tandem amendments this week that could save taxpayers billions in needless Washington spending. The amendments call for a one percent, five percent and up to a 38% cut to the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations Bill to be voted on as early as Thursday. A one percent across-the-board cut will save the taxpayer $674 million. A five percent cut will save $3.37 billion.

The National Taxpayers Union Foundation (NTUF) has released a report on federal spending showing Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) to have the most fiscally conservative policy agenda of all members of the House or Senate.

NTUF computed the annualized cost of 1,698 pieces of legislation introduced in 2009, then calculated for each House and Senate member the total amount of spending contained in the bills they sponsored and cosponsored.  Jordan's policy agenda was found to have cut federal spending by $229.8 billion.  The next highest-ranked spending cutter was Congressman Jeb Hens

Congressman Jim Jordan's (R-Urbana) staff will be in Wapakoneta and Urbana on Monday, August 30th.

Cory Noonan, Rep. Jordan's Deputy District Director, will be available to meet with constituents from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM in the 2nd floor Conference Room of the Auglalize County Administration Building, located at 209 S. Blackhoof Street in Wapakoneta.

Mr. Noonan will also be available in Urbana from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM in Conference Room B of the Champaign County Community Center, located at 1512 U.S. Highway 68.

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) issued the following statement after the Department of Health and Human Services announced its decision to provide $160 million in taxpayer money to Pennsylvania for an ObamaCare high-risk insurance program that will include coverage for abortions.

 President Obama, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) and Congressman Steve Driehaus (D-Ohio) promised that ObamaCare would not allow tax dollars to be used to take the life of unborn children.  They have broken this promise, and they must now answer to the people they represent.
