Washington, D.C.— Freedom Caucus Chairman Emeritus Jim Jordan (R-OH) released the following statement on behalf of the group about its departing members:
Washington, D.C.— The House Freedom Caucus held its Officer elections on Monday night. The group elected Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) by acclamation to replace outgoing two-term Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH). Jim Jordan will serve as Chairman Emeritus and Coalitions Coordinator and Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) will serve as Whip.
Mission statement of the House Freedom Caucus:
During the hearing, Rep. Jordan focused on the fact that the federal government's agencies collect billions of dollars in fees, fines and penalties, but that money is not overseen by Congress.
