In his second term on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) was appointed as a Ranking Member on its Domestic Policy Subcommittee.
The Subcommittee conducts oversight in government policy through investigations, hearings and reports. The Subcommittee sheds light on waste, fraud and abuse within the Federal Government.

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) stood on the side of the responsible homeowner in voting against H.R. 1106, the Democrats' mortgage "cram-down" legislation which would allow bankruptcy law to include home mortgages.
This bill gives bankruptcy courts the power to alter contracts by reducing mortgage principal and adjusting interest rates.
