Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) made the following comments regarding President Barack Obama's executive order on immigration:

"The American people spoke loudly during the mid-terms: they want a legislative fix to our nation's immigration problems, not a presidential executive order. The American people do not want unilateral amnesty; they want law enforcement and border control. That's not where it ends, but it must be where it begins.

"America is great because it has been built on the sacrifices of the best America has had to offer: the men and women who past and present make up our Armed Forces. Since  before our nation's founding, our soldiers put themselves in harm's way to protect and defend American liberty and opportunity. We can never repay the debt we owe them. But we can honor their memory, and thank those living among us for their service.

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) released the following statement today regarding yesterday's ruling on marriage by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit:

"The Sixth Circuit Court has honored the right of Ohioans to define marriage as we see fit. Yesterday's ruling was a victory for the democratic process. It should be left to the American people, not unelected judges, to decide this important issue. The Sixth Circuit recognized this truth."

In celebration of Veterans Day, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) will meet with Crawford County area veterans and pay for their haircuts Tuesday morning.

Rep. Jordan will be at Ed's Barber Shop in Crestline from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, and will pay for the haircut of any veteran who visits.

"Time and again our nation's veterans put themselves in harm's way to protect and defend American liberty and opportunity. Their sacrifices can never be fully repaid," Rep. Jordan said.

Ed's Barber Shop is located at 385 N. Seltzer Street, Crestline, Ohio.

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) has awarded Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) the NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence. The award is based on his votes in the 113th Congress on issues that are critical to manufacturing in the United States.

Ohio's fourth district has 649 manufacturing facilities with nearly 60,000 residents working in manufacturing.

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) made the following statement regarding today's decision by District Judge Reggie B. Walton to dismiss lawsuits by conservative non-profit organizations seeking redress for IRS targeting of and improper scrutiny into their applications for tax-exempt status:

"This is a sad ruling for liberty, and it makes no sense. True the Vote, and its founder Catherine Engelbrecht, were systematically harassed by the federal government. Ms.

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) will be in Marysville on Wednesday, October 15. He will attend a veterans roundtable to discuss issues affecting current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Rep. Jordan will be available for a question-and-answer session to provide assistance and address complaints. Members of the Union County Veterans Service Commission will also be on hand. Rep. Jordan and his staff have provided Fourth District veterans help with receiving benefits from the Veterans Affairs Department.

Heartbeat of Lima is a pregnancy resource center, providing free ultrasounds, parenting classes, resources for expectant and new mothers, counseling and more. Later in the evening, Dr. King will keynote Heartbeat of Lima's fifth annual fundraising banquet.
