Today, the House Freedom Caucus released the following statement regarding Planned Parenthood funding:

"Given the appalling revelations surrounding Planned Parenthood, we cannot in good moral conscience vote to send taxpayer money to this organization while still fulfilling our duty to represent our constituents. We must therefore oppose any spending measure that contains funding for Planned Parenthood."

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) has invited Mr. Andrew Krakowiak to be his guest in the House gallery for the September 24th speech by Pope Francis to a joint session of Congress. 

Krakowiak is the Executive in Residence at Elyria Catholic High School, and has served as a teacher, coach and administrator in Northeast Ohio catholic schools for more than 30 years.

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) made the following comments regarding today's report from the Senate Finance Committee's investigation into the IRS targeting of conservative groups:

"The Senate Finance Committee's report on the IRS targeting of conservative non-profits reinforces the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee's call for IRS Commissioner John Koskinen to go. The Finance committee's report shows that Koskinen failed to cooperate with congressional investigations, which frustrated not only Republicans but also the committee's ranking member, Senator Ron Wyden.

Today, the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste honored Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) for earning a perfect score on its annual scorecard. Rep. Jordan was one of only 17 lawmakers to earn a 100 percent score in CCAGW's 2014 Congressional Ratings, making him a "Taxpayer Super Hero."  He has a lifetime rating of 97 percent since being elected to Congress in 2006.

"The United States used congressionally-approved sanctions to weaken Iran's regime, economy, and capacity to foment terrorism. In 2013, the House overwhelmingly passed enhanced sanctions designed to turn the screws on the Ayatollah and his henchmen even further.

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Congressman Ron DeSantis (R-Florida) co-authored an op-ed that appeared in the Wall Street Journal today. The op-ed calls for President Obama to remove IRS Commissioner John Koskinen from his post. The op-ed concludes that if President Obama does not do so, then Congress should impeach Commissioner Koskinen.

"The House Freedom Caucus supports the First Amendment Defense Act (H.R. 2802; S. 1598) sponsored by Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID) in the House and Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) in the Senate. We urge House Republican leadership to bring H.R. 2802 to the floor for a vote before the August recess."

"This is a great day for taxpayers around the country who are fed up with cronyism in Washington. The charter of the Export-Import Bank, the ‘bridge to nowhere' of corporate welfare, expired at midnight. The Bank has long been emblematic of Washington working for special interests and not for everyday Americans.
